Welcome to the Kidlington Squash Ladder. This was set up on 8th February 2006 to allow players to participate in an informal ladder system. The ladder is run by the ladder players and is not affiliated with the Kidlington & Gosford Sports Centre nor the Kidlington Squash Club although both were agreable to the ladder being created. For those players living near to Bicester you may be interested to hear that there is a ladder opened up there. It's an open ladder and just starting up. It will be based at the Bicester Sports Centre where I think they already have rather active squash leagues in place. There is also a ladder a little further south near to Hinksey Hill. Based in the old Westminster College, the Harcourt Hill ladder is open to anyone but at least one of the players has to be a member of the sports club there. You will have noticed a points score appear next to player names on the rankings page (if logged in). This is a trial points rating system based on the classic Elo system. Players will be awarded points for winning and lose points for losing depending on how difficult the system calculates your opponent to be. It will take a few games to settle down the scoring system. Currently the rating is displayed for information purposes only but in future it will be possible to arrange the ladder ranking system around this points score.
