Welcome to the Harcourt Hill Squash Ladder!

First of all a few points of information. This ladder is not operated by Harcourt Hill Sports Centre. The administrator is Ian McKean and the software used is developed and supported by Matt Evans. Matt runs the Kidlington and Gosford squash ladder, by the way.

The ladder is provided and operated for the benefit of squash players who play mainly at Harcourt Hill. It's open to all regardless of age or ability. Games are usually played at;

Harcourt Hill Campus
Botley
Oxford
OX2 9AT

... but players can play elsewhere by mutual agreement.

So join the ladder and circulate the news to all your squash playing friends by word of mouth or better still by email with a link to this site!

Your ladder Admin is no longer playing squash at Harcourt. I now play at the Oxford University sports ground on the Iffley Road.

Under the circumstances, I am planning to set up another ladder for Iffley Road, so we have to decide what to do with this ladder! Is anyone interested in taking it over? Or shall I can it?

I have sent a round robin email to all members to ask this question.

You will have noticed a points score appear next to player names on the rankings page (if logged in). This is a trial points rating system based on the classic Elo system. Players will be awarded points for winning and lose points for losing depending on how difficult the system calculates your opponent to be. It will take a few games to settle down the scoring system. Currently the rating is displayed for information purposes only but in future it will be possible to arrange the ladder ranking system around this points score.
